Failed Install of Vista Beta 1 Build 5112
Hi, I just attended the PDC05 and get the "Goods", including the Windows Vista Beta 2. I'm trying to install it using Virtual PC 2004 and took me several hours, unfortunately unsuccessful. I tried to consult the matter with the virtual_pc_guy at the Big Hall area and told me that there are issues.

Are you using Virtual PC 2004? If so, then yes this is normal. VPC 2004 is not optimized for Vista. After you get Vista installed (I've heard install times anywhere from 3 hours to over 12 hours for Beta 2 in VPC 2004) adding the VPC additions will help some. Yep, installation took around 2 hours here, performance is quite sluggish here even after installing additions.
